I have never had maternity pics taken of myself but I've always wanted some! I love doing photography for other people but I gotta admit, it STINKS always taking pics of other people that I'd love to have of myself or my own family. The day I turned 37 weeks along in my pregnancy, I decided to see if perhaps I could kill two birds with one stone. I called up a friend who is due the day before me and said that we need to go out and play camera together, maternity style! She isn't a photographer but I just set up all of the pics, chose the framing and focus and lighting for pics of her, then we swapped exact spots and I walked her or her husband through the steps to get the pic I had just done of her. This worked TONS better than my many failed attempts with a tripod in the past trying to get self family portraits and I'm so happy with the results!
